A. M. Pollard’s partial autobiography or memoir reviews his first forty years of life in and around the Southern United States. Having served as a student, an ice cream “scooper,” adjunct university faculty, lawyer, lobbyist, and government regulator, his emphasis throughout has focused on sensing the important, but with special attention to the anecdotal, insightful and, particularly, humorous. His previous publications are numerous, but technical and legal in nature; little to no humor involved.Topics addressed vary over the years from grandparents and parents to education and employment to controversial issues involving race and Capitol Hill politics and to more conventional matters. The locales center on the South, particularly Georgia, South and North Carolina, Virginia and the very Southern town of Washington, D.C. And, while written about his experiences, he believes many will find coincidence in the expressions of perspectives, humor, angst, affection and concerns; well, he hopes so. Read more
